Peekskill Middle School

* There are 20 classes of PE for a school quarter.

* Each class has a 5 point value.

 

Points are based off of the following:

1.  Participation (5 points off if not participating) & Effort (2 points off for lack of effort)

 (involved in class and puts forth an acceptable effort)

 

2. Cooperation (2 points off if not cooperating with teacher or classmates)

(follows instructions, does not use electronic devices in class, and interacts well with others)

 

3. Attendance (5 points off after 2 absences) and Punctuality (unexcused lateness to class under 3 minutes is 1 pt., over 3 minutes is 2 pts, half class or more is 3 pts)

(attends class and is on time)

 

4. Prepared for class (2 points off if student does not wear sneakers) 

(wears athletic footwear; Crocs, Sandals, Boots are not permitted to participate in)

 

*Medically excused students will maintain their current grade until approved to return to PE.

If the medical excuse exceeds 8 classes or more, then a "medical" will be assigned for their grade for that quarter.

 

*If a student has 8 or more absences for the quarter, then an "excessive absences" comment will be listed and a failure assigned for their grade for that quarter.
